Beginnings of an Entrepreneurship
Laura, a self-proclaimed “foodie” from an early age, always came up with business concepts centred on food. Laura started her first company selling door-to-door baked cookies when she was ten. Although that venture was short-lived (her parents were not pleased with her wandering around the neighborhood), it set the seed for her future career as a food entrepreneur.
Laura started a corporate job in marketing after college but quickly realized it wasn’t for her. She wished to be her employer and follow her passion for cuisine full-time. Laura took the plunge and resigned from her day job in 2010 to launch MOMables.com.
The Evolution of MOMables
After nine years, MOMables has grown into a thriving online business with thousands of users worldwide. What began as a tiny blog with family-friendly recipes has evolved into a full-service meal planning service with an app, cookbooks, merchandise, and more.
Laura created FreshPrep in 2019, a meal kit delivery service that helps busy families get healthy meals on the table without cooking from scratch. Everything is prepared and ready to go with FreshPrep; all you have to do is heat it! Since its inception, the company has grown steadily and shows no indications of slowing down anytime soon.
