This could be Apple’s final iPhone software update before iOS 16.
Apple’s iOS 15.6 is now available. The update to iOS 15.5 was released on July 20 and is now available for download to your iPhone. The software update includes:
- Bug fixes.
- A long list of security updates.
- A new feature in the TV app for watching live sports.
With iOS 15.6, you can now restart live sports games that are already in progress, as well as pause, rewind, and fast-forward. This feature is also available in iPad and Mac computer updates.

iOS 15.6 contains improvements, bug fixes, and security updates.
The TV app now includes the ability to restart a live sports game already in progress and pause, rewind, and fast-forward.
It fixes an issue in which Settings may continue to show that device storage is full even when it is not.
This update resolves a problem that could cause braille devices to slow down or stop responding when navigating text in Mail.
Fixes a Safari bug that caused a tab to revert to the previous page.
This could be the final iOS 15 update before the company’s next mobile software, iOS 16, is widely released alongside the highly anticipated iPhone 14. The next version of iOS, which is now in public beta, will include several new features, such as the ability to edit and unsend messages, a new customizable lock screen, notification changes, and updates to Wallet and Apple Pay.
iPadOS 15.6, MacOS 12.5, WatchOS 8.7, and TVOS 15.6 were also released by Apple. According to Apple, in addition to security updates, iPadOS 15.6 and MacOS 12.5 received the same TV app update for live sports as iOS 15.6, while WatchOS 8.7 received bug fixes and TVOS 15.6 received performance and stability improvements.
