Brent Kruel has been a healthcare executive since 2000. He graduated from the Air Force Academy, in Colorado Springs as a distinguished graduate and served as a Medical Service Corps officer.

Brent furthered his formal education by obtaining a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill which is the nation’s top school of public health.  While at UNC Chapple Hill, he was distinguished with dual honors in the Delta Omega and Alpha Epsilon Lambda honors societies. Brent has a long career in healthcare as an executive and in the last seven years has become a thought leader and innovator with a singular purpose, helping people realize better overall wellbeing through the supported application of science and technology.

Brent founded BioFunctional Health Solutions in 2018 to bring innovative musculoskeletal health solutions to employers across America. He recently launched Transformative Wellbeing Innovations, Inc in 2023 to answer a call from direct consumers for a way to access health, wellness, and wellbeing services that employers weren’t paying for. Transformative Wellbeing Innovations got its start in 2019 as an innovation incubator to identify and evaluate the very best technology and science-backed health and wellness treatments.  Brent is joined by his wife, Robin Kruel, a registered nurse with a wide array of healthcare experience and their medical director, Dr. Bradley Vilims.  Together, these three leaders have identified and secured partnerships with the best of the best of health, wellness, and wellbeing leaders in the world.

Distinctive Medical Services

Transformative Wellbeing Innovations exists with the primary purpose of enabling individuals, regardless of their current circumstances, to make lasting lifestyle improvements resulting in as many “best” days possible.  This is through quality-of-life medicine and easiest explained in the following major categories to include:

Pain and musculoskeletal health – They are inventors, patent holders, and innovators in resolving the root causes of musculoskeletal conditions. They do this through first ensuring an accurate diagnosis, a step alarmingly overlooked in the delivery of care, then apply the most conservative, less costly, and most effective treatments proven to deliver the best outcomes. They will also define successful outcomes with the patient/customer prior to embarking on a treatment journey with them.  They spend time, a lot of time, understanding the patient and their condition prior to formulating a course of treatment that is best for them.

Brain function optimization – Think of this as reaching your “Limitless” potential by improving brain function and as a result maximizing your focus, memory and learning capabilities.  Because your whole body is regulated by your brain function, energy levels and overall health and wellbeing are automatically improved as well.  The brain is the computer that controls all the body’s peripherals. “In partnership with Millennium Health and Dr. Mark Gordon, a recognized world leading neuroscientist, we use an AI-supported system with liposomal supplements, that cross the blood-brain barrier, to improve cognitive brain function.  It is also proven effective in resolving long COVID symptoms, brain fog, insomnia, depression, anxiety and many more,” says Brent.

General health and wellness lifestyle programs – They take customization and personalization to a whole new level through the most comprehensive, data-driven, analysis of an individual’s biology, personal goals, and health history.  The result is a sustainable plan that works when coupled with their expert registered nurse health coaches. The following are a some examples of how data is collected:

  1. Food Sensitivity – IgG reactivity testing of 240 foods. The most comprehensive test available to identify specific foods that cause inflammation in your body and empower a plan to reduce consumption.
  2. DNA Testing – genetic testing to identify how your body processes carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and micro-nutrients; how types of exercise affect the body; how lifestyle behaviors influence the aging process; and how unique metabolic and physiologic functions influence athletic performance.
  3. Lumen® Metabolic Flexibility Optimization System – The world’s first hand-held, portable, device to accurately measure metabolic flexibility.  Never guess again what your body needs or what kind of fuel you are burning.  This give your real-time data.
  4. Whoop ® Biometric Coaching System – The only clinically validated biometric wearable available for measuring and improving health and wellness through recovery, sleep, training, and health coaching with the guidance of your BHS nurse.
  5. Comprehensive Lab testing – 72 biomarkers help to create a personalized supplementation and hormone optimization program based on an individual’s unique biology.

Mental Wellbeing and Psychological Strength Building – They will guide you through a transformational process that will change your mindset forever with simple tools and life hacks proven to work for everyone. A preventative and restorative process for creating a sound foundation for mental health resulting in lower anxiety and tools to manage stress better.

  1. Psychological Strength Building Program – Exclusive online program developed by their partner, best-selling author, Dr. Tony Kern.  Be able to manage your life and difficult situations through preparedness and proven, simple, error reduction mechanisms.
  2. Prefrontal Cortex Engagement Application – In partnership with Mendi®, at-home brain training to improve focus and enhance mental resilience.

Ambition to Improve the Quality of Life

TWI is launching all the above programs directly to the consumer as well as in partnership with BioFunctional Health Solutions through employee purchase programs (EPP).  This allows employers to provide access to TWI elite services at a discount otherwise not available to the direct consumer.  BioFunctional Health Solutions is a recognized national leader in corporate health and wellness and is excited to offer their new EPP at no cost for their existing customers, and for a limited time to new customers. BHS (BioFunctional Health Solutions) is happy to give back to employers during this downturn economy.

Brent comments, “We have always been radically passionate about improving the quality of life of American employees and now we have found a way to do it without it costing the employer.”

TWI is planning to launch new services in March 2023 including, but not limited to:

Aesthetics – in partnership with Kimera labs, TWI will be offering the latest technology in eliminating fine lines and wrinkles, scar remodeling, skin smoothing and toning, removing age spots and reversing a lot of the signs of aging altogether.

Sexual function – in partnership with Kimera labs, TWI will be offering the latest technology to improve sexual function by resolving erectile dysfunction (ED), Peyronie’s Disease (PD), and improving energy and sex drive.

Hair regeneration (regrowth) – in partnership with Kimera labs, TWI will be offering the latest technology to regrow hair when everything else has failed.  “Our proprietary system is the most effective the world has ever seen, and we are excited to help women and men who have lost hope of having their own hair,” says Brent.

Weight management and body composition transformation – TWI’s proprietary process was built by leading experts with the goal of helping those who have struggled with their weight make a lasting transformation.  This is a combination of their best-in-class diagnostic and genetic testing, coupled with the best available treatments personalized to an individual’s goals, health history, and their own personal biology.

Brent states that, “We don’t just make a plan, we walk alongside all our customers to help them achieve their goals.  Our expert registered nurse health coaches will be present every step of the way and evolve the plan as progress is made.  This is not a diet; this is a lifestyle that is sustainable.”

Strategic Vision and Future Goals for TWI

TWI’s focus is to start the direct-to-consumer market along the front range of Colorado, in Denver and Colorado Springs.  They currently have clinics in both locations where they will deliver to the public before expanding into clinics in other major markets.  They are already experiencing a high demand for travel concierge services with customers coming to Colorado from all across the nation. Brent hopes to have local clinics available to them in their hometowns within the next few years.

Brent asserts, “Transformative Wellbeing Innovations is and will be a leader in identifying and partnering with the best providers of technology (like wearables), treatments (like exosomes), and processes (like psychological strength building). We will evaluate everything in the health and wellness industry and take the complexity out of using it for our customers.  Our vision is to make our services available and affordable for every American.”

Ensuring the Clients Satisfaction

The challenging financial landscape over in the last three years has caused employers to rethink benefits they may be offering.  With the Great Resignation, employers are competing for the same limited talent pool with little differentiation in their benefits. TWI hopes to help employers overcome this with innovative and very attractive programs that are HSA/FSA eligible and can be subsidized and customized by the employer.

“Employers want employees coming back to the office. If they have one of our nurses there providing these elite services and making their employees better, then employers will find they will have enthusiastic employees who are loyal.” Says Brent.

At TWI, they create a wowing experience for their customers through staying in communication with them and actively listening to their needs. Their programs can be altered and further customized as necessary.

Doing these tasks is not as easy as it sounds, it takes a lot of time and passion to achieve. What helps TWI to achieve this is their leadership’s passion, education, and industry expertise allowing them to partner with the best of the best in health and wellness solutions.

“We have all individually had great success but together we can achieve much more and help as many people as we can feel and look their best. We apply this same passion to our own lives and we enjoy the quality of life that it brings” says Brent.

A True Leader

Mutual respect is the linchpin of success in any organization. The workplace environment at TWI is built upon this basic concept. You might be more familiar with the golden rule to treat others how you want to be treated. At TWI, they are a very highly educated and successful group of individuals that honor and respect everyone’s individuality, choices, and ideas.  They never have and never will discriminate against anyone, and treat everyone they are blessed to meet, with love and respect.

For Brent, being vulnerable and empathetic is essential to be a true leader. It is the primary zone for him in which he lives now as a husband, father, and business leader.

“Legacy is only secured in people that are nurtured by an empathetic leader. All other success is meaningless and temporary.” Brent Kruel

“There isn’t a true leader who isn’t empathetic, those without it are tyrants applying influence and control through fear.  Empathy is vital and essential to making a difference in anyone’s life.  I won’t be remembered for anything I have done, but remembered by people whose lives I touched.  In regard to TWI, this is why we exist…to touch people in a healing, lasting impactful way.”

“We exist to help people and that is what we consistently do.  We don’t have dissatisfied customers because our passion to help them comes through in every interaction.” Brent Kruel

Piece of Advice to Aspiring Business People

Brent’s piece of advice for aspiring business people is, “If you have a great idea, you will need help to make it a reality.  But do not give away ownership in your idea or business too early or easily.  You will need money and if you can get it without losing control that is ideal.  Otherwise, it is usually better to grow slowly than to compromise your business ethics to that of an investor looking to turn a profit quickly from your idea.  Regarding partners that are not bringing money, this usually doesn’t go as planned. If you need them, make sure to vest their interest over as long as possible with defined milestones and success criteria.”
